i must agree with Kelsey about putting the personal life of an actor into said actor's movie review. i mean sure, to a point an actor's personal life can affect how the audience views them (lindsay lohan anyone?), but you as a professional movie critic, i expected better as well. i was also hoping for a movie review that would cast aside the "tween" fanbase comment from the get go. ok, we all know the core demographic of Hannah Montana is made up of "tweens" but i'd like it if you actually went into reviewing this movie as a movie, or a general kids movie. we all have biases, but if you want to be even a little bit credible as a movie reviewer, give us your bias after watching the movie, not before it. getting a review from someone who automatically has their eyes set to "tween-vision" from the moment their eyes saw the movie screen is ridiculous. someone setting aside their bias of thinking of this movie as just for "tweens" is what i wanted. if you thought it was still just for "tweens" after you saw it or you thought it could reach an older audience then that's all fine and dandy. but after reading your article, it is clear that you already had a review in your head even before watching the movie. so again i agree with Kelsey, "extraordinarily unprofessional."

GREAT REVIEW! I loved the analysis of the film and the strange world of meta-celebrity that surrounds it. Especially considering that we've all seen this story before (in some form or other every live action Disney, ABC family and Nickelodeon movie ever made) and to ignore the echoes of reality and unreality reverberating both within and without of the film would be leaving out the most fascinating part of the story.

I saw the movie ( and I'm not 12 !) and really enjoyed it . So what if it's not all realistic or you don't like Miley cyrus in real life ! It's acting . The songs were good and it was really interesting to see what happened next , even if I could see some of it coming . The movie is not meant to rule your life just enertain you for 2 hours .

I was not disappointed in paying the money as my daughter as well as my son enjoyed the movie and got lots of laughs as well as seeing a loving family portrayed. I enjoyed this movie with my daughter. Why would you expect this movie to be written with difficult storylines and/or a hard to follow plot?! This movie was not intended to be written on an adult level for their entertainment -- if so, we would be watching episodes of Hannah Montana on HBO or Cinemax. Rather, it was written to entertain the "Disney Audience"!! I found the movie funny and entertaining -- and the best part about the movie was the fact that my daughter enjoyed it - which was the whole point in going to see it anyway!

Okay, If you don't watch the Hannah Montana Episodes then hello you won't like the movie. Her personal life has nothing to do with this movie, it is her job. This review was horribly biased. Was the movie predictable, yes. But it was heartwarming and enjoyable. Sure the target audience is mainly preteen girls, but there's something in it for everything to enjoy. If you're expecting the Divinci Code, then you'll obviously be disappointed, but I'm not twelve and I thought it was cute and captivating. In my opinion, Cyrus is a talented young actress with incredible presence and a real knack for comedy. This review is nothing more than an attack on her personal life and isn't informative in the least about the Movie. All in all, this movie made me smile. Try it some time.

This movie was predictable horrible. Hollywood is trying to ride the coat tails of her popularity. It doesn't matter that it has a bad story and worse acting talent, it's all about $$$ The movie is the worst Disney film I've been forced to sit through.

Wow - some people take things way too personally. I am 41 and saw this movie today with my 12 year old daughter. With all the movies out there that have to push sex and violence, I found this movie to be quite refreshing. It was fun, funny and enjoyable. I laughed out loud several times. Go see it and have a good time - don't let these Debbie Downers fool you. It was a good movie.

If you enjoy the show I believe you will enjoy the movie; everyone seems to be a critic when Hannah/Miley is involved. The movie entertained my entire family ages 7,13,32,and 40. I found it to be refreshingly innocent and light with a side of uplifting music.

I saw it, I am 23, with my 18 year old brother and my 14 year old cousin and we all thought it was great. Was it totally original? No, but was its entertaining? Yes. I loved how they incorporated the songs and made it natural. Yeah the idea that a wig and make-up makes Miley unrecognizable is silly, but so was Clark Kent and his glasses. It called fantasy. I laughed a lot in the movie and even teared up at the touching family moments. It was a good movie, just don't expect it to be realistic. I mean Jackson with the Loser sign while Miley is singing in the end, so like what a brother would do, and the moments of Parental love (butterfly song & looking at her mother picture) were so touching. Forget the haters it was a good movie.

It was a great movie with a switch from the more casual type of acting they do in the series. Miley's performance during the movie was outstanding. I watched the movie again with my family.I realize that the reporter following Hannah Montana around to dig up something to tear Hannah Montana down. He was working for a sleezy magazine. I know a great way to make a movie! A sleezy movie critic falls in the mud--or something worse. Then everyone goes on with their dream. Ofcourse it would not be likely to receive a good review. I think that perhaps everyone is taking the review the wrong way, though brutal, it is truthful, which i have to respect. But it is after all a childrens television show, not everybody, especially an adult for that matter, is going to understand it. It's a silly, funny movie for kids and teens, with the occasional adults and college students. Personally, I'm not interseted in the movie, but I'm not biased. I agree with Amy that it's quite ... stupid that a wig is the only thing seperating their identities. "Miley Stewart" sang in public (in her classroom) in several episodes, and nobody makes a comment except for once when a tricky 12 year old (Rico) dares to accuse her. But other than that, the 15 year old students are completely oblivious, as are the millions of fans. But eight year olds (the original age that the show was aimed for during the first season) don't care. Now the show has escalated, aiming for tweens and teenagers, but still holding on to the fun, quirky essence that younger children love. That was basically my own review, if you agree or not, I'd like a response.

I took my four year, 5-year old niece and 8 year old daughter last Saturday to see this movie. We all loved it. Im taking my eight year old back again this weekend. I dont know who thought this movie would be rated from an adult stand point. Its made for 6-12 year old girls and they dont need complex story lines. Its funny and good movie.

I have the Blue Ray/HD DVD of this movie. I actually thought this review was funny. People are frustrated because they liked the movie, but most critics see so many movies that they need something unique, like they would need a drug. I am actually bitter, too, because I feel the critics were able to convince people that this was just a movie for kids. But they wont be able to do that with the Last Song, Miley's next movie, which I'm sure will do better than the $160,000 million Worldwide Hannah Montana:the Movie did. The previews look awesome.

The reviewer may have a point that the director played it safe. That's OK, this film was too important to play games with, or to try to make it edgy. Careers were on the line, so why don't you make your own movie. I give the movie a 10 because I smile anytime Miley's on the screen.

I am a guy who liked the show Buffy the Vampire Slayer. I told a girl that, once, and her comment was that Buffy just beats people up. I took this hard, but she was right. I am so over Spiderman and etc. who beat up criminals. Miley has a much cooler superpower. She ROCKS THE HOUSE!!!
