Peet Snags Female Lead In '2012'

Amanda Peet has signed on to star in the female lead of the latest Roland Emmerich film, 2012, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Peet joins an ensemble cast that includes John Cusack, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Thandie Newton, Danny Glover and Oliver Platt. Emmerich is no stranger to filming mass destruction (see also Independence Day, Godzilla, The Day After Tomorrow, etc.) and 2012 also centers around a global catastrophe and the struggle to survive.
