DreamWorks has obtained the rights to Scholastic Media's multiplatform effort, The 39 Clues, and Steven Spielberg is looking at the film as a potential directing project, according to Variety. The series launches on September 9th, and in addition to boasting 10 books released over two years, it will incorporate collectible cards and an online game. A writer for the film adaptation is expected to be hired within the next couple of weeks. There's no telling where this flick would land on Spielberg's to-do list considering he's circling around several projects. The most prominent of those potential projects is his Abraham Lincoln biopic starring Liam Neeson.
