McCarthy Joins Emmerich's '2012'

Thomas McCarthy, who recently wrote and directed the indie hit The Visitor, is going to appear in front of the camera for director Roland Emmerich's 2012, according to The Hollywood Reporter. McCarthy will play Amanda Peet's boyfriend in the film and he joins the already cast John Cusack, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Thandie Newton, Danny Glover and Oliver Platt. McCarthy will also appear in Peter Jackson's upcoming adaptation of the best-selling novel, The Lovely Bones. The Visitor has brought in $7.7 million domestically.
