Sony Snags Animated 'Planet 51'

Sony Pictures Worldwide Acquisitions Group has obtained the U.S. distribution rights to the kid-friendly, CG-animated flick, Planet 51, according to Variety. Providing voices in the film are Dwayne Johnson, Jessica Biel, Justin Long, Seann William Scott, Gary Oldman and John Cleese and it is due to be released on November 20, 2009. New Line had previously owned the rights, but after they folded it went to Warner Bros., who let the project go due to a dispute over a release date.
