For his first job since the success of Iron Man, Robert Downey Jr. will take on the role of Sherlock Holmes, according to Variety. The project is going to be directed by Guy Ritchie and it's set up at Warner Bros. with Joel Silver, Lionel Wigram, Susan Downey and Dan Lin producing. Holmes is slated to begin shooting in October, and Downey Jr. committed to the project after Ritchie turned in a polished version of the latest script written by Anthony Peckham. Downey Jr. can next be seen alongside Ben Stiller and Jack Black in Tropic Thunder, which opens August 15th.
