Scorsese May Direct 'Empire' Pilot

Martin Scorsese may be headed for a TV directing gig. The Academy Award-winning director is now in negotiations to direct the pilot episode of HBO's Boardwalk Empire, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Scorsese is already serving as an executive producer on the project, which is about the history of Atlantic City. Currently, the director is in the middle of postproduction on Shutter Island which stars Leonardo DiCaprio, Mark Ruffalo and Ben Kingsley.
