Matthew Vaughn (Layer Cake, Stardust) is set to direct an adaptation of Mark Millar's comic, Kick-Ass, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Millar's Wanted was recently adapted into a film which has grossed $134 million so far this summer. Christopher Mintz-Plasse (best known as McLovin from Superbad) is in negotiations to join the project, while Chloe Moretz is already on board. Since the project's violent nature caused studios to pass on it, Vaughn raised the $30 million budget himself.
