Sommers Circles New 'Tarzan' Film

Stephen Sommers may be tackling the story of Tarzan for his next project. According to Variety, Sommers, who has directed such big-budget successes as The Mummy and Van Helsing, is now in negotiations to helm a new take on the classic story for Warner Bros. and producer Jerry Weintraub. Sommers will co-write the script with Stuart Beattie (Collateral, Australia), who also just co-wrote Sommer's latest project, G.I. Joe: Rise of Cobra.
