Rudin Pulls Name Off 'Reader'

A dispute between Harvey Weinstein and Scott Rudin over director Stephen Daldry's The Reader has resulted in Rudin leaving the project and pulling his name off of it, according to Variety. Rudin didn't want to open the film in 2008 because it would compete with Doubt and Revolutionary Road, but Weinstein has insisted that it be released this fall. The Reader stars Kate Winslett and Ralph Fiennes. Rudin won a Best Picture Oscar last year for No Country for Old Men.
