After serving only as a producer on several recent projects such as Forgetting Sarah Marshall and Drillbit Taylor, Judd Apatow returns to writer/director mode for Funny People. The film's MySpace page features the first poster, various stills and a contest that will allow an Apatow fan to actually appear in the movie.

People is due in theatres on July 31, 2009 and it boasts an impressive ensemble cast that is headlined by Adam Sandler, Seth Rogen and Leslie Mann.

The last film that Apatow wrote and directed was 2007's Knocked Up, which grossed $148.8 million domestically.
