Chandrasekhar Attracted to 'Opposites'

Jay Chandrasekhar, the comedic director behind such hits as Super Troopers and Beerfest, is reportedly going to tackle a story about body switching called Opposites.

The 40-year-old director will helm a script by Dan Ewan which provides an R-rated look at a couple that switches bodies in order to make their relationship work. There is now word yet as to which actors will take on the roles.
Up until now, Chandrasekhar has made most his films with the Broken Lizard comedy troupe, but Opposites will not be associated with Lizard. The group will premiere their latest work, Broken Lizard's the Slammin' Salmon, this coming Saturday at the Slamdance Film Festival. In addition to featuring Lizard regulars, Salmon also stars Michael Clarke Duncan. The film focuses on a restaurant in Miami, and it could easily become a cult hit in that niche the way that the waiter comedy Waiting..., which starred Ryan Reynolds and Anna Faris, did in 2005.
Chandrasekhar's biggest box office hit came in 2005 when he adapted Dukes of Hazzard for the bigscreen. The Warner Bros. release grossed $80.3 million domestically, which translates to nearly $90 million when adjusted for inflation.
