Character actor Chiwetel Ejiofor is reportedly considering taking a role in Salt, the new CIA thriller that will star Angelina Jolie and Liev Schreiber.

Salt started out as film with a male lead, and after Tom Cruise dropped out it was revised for Jolie.
Ejiofor has won praise for his supporting turns in the likes of Children of Men, Talk to Me and American Gangster. Last year, he led the ensemble cast of David Mamet's Redbelt. Despite winning glowing reviews, the film failed to catch on at the box office and it grossed only $2.3 million domestically.
Ejiofor recently shot Roland Emmerich's latest end-of-the-world extravaganza, 2012, in which he'll appear opposite John Cusack, Amanda Peet, Oliver Platt and many others.
