Monica Bellucci will reportedly star as the long-lost love of Nicolas Cage's character in The Sorcercer's Apprentice, a new film that reunites the team behind Disney's National Treasure films. Jerry Bruckheimer is producing and Jon Turteltaub is directing.

The Italian-born Bellucci has established a pretty solid career for herself by appearing in projects for American directors such as Mel Gibson (The Passion of the Christ), The Wachowski Brothers (The Matrix Reloaded and The Matrix Revolutions) and Spike Lee (She Hate Me).
Apprentice is tentatively set to hit theatres on July 16, 2010.
