Adam Sandler, Judd Apatow, Sylvester Stallone, Jon Favreau and Cher will voice animals in MGM’s The Zookeeper, a comedy about a zoo employee—played by Kevin James—who receives dating advice from the many creatures he interacts with. Frank Coraci (Click) will direct and Happy Madison, Sandler’s label, will produce.
Sandler and James will reunite under the Madison banner for the first time since I Now Pronounce You Chuck & Larry, a comedy that grossed $120 million domestically in the summer of 2007. James last starred in Madison’s Paul Blart: Mall Cop, which totaled $146 million in the U.S. this past January.
Sandler will headline Apatow’s highly anticipated Funny People, set for a July 31 release. Stallone and Favreau are currently helming The Expendables and Iron Man 2, respectively, and Cher recently signed on to star with Christina Aguilera in Burlesque.
