Elizabeth Banks has reportedly landed a role opposite Russell Crowe in Paul Haggis' The Next Three Days, a remake of the French thriller Pour elle.

Banks last appeared in The Uninvited, which grossed a mediocre $28.5 million after opening in January. The actress is known mostly for her comedic work, so her involvement in Three Days marks another step into dramatic territory.
Haggis is no stranger to remaking foreign films. The Academy Award-winner penned the script for 2006's The Last Kiss, a remake of an Italian film. Kiss grossed only $11.6 million domestically.
