Michael Bay's production company, Platinum Dunes, has struck a deal with Paramount for first-look production. Platinum Dunes, which specializes in genre films, particularly horror franchise remakes like 2003's Texas Chainsaw Massacre and next year's Nightmare on Elm Street, is a practical producer's dream—it's known for pushing out low-cost, high-budget blockbusters.

Now, Platinum Dunes will get to work on a whole list of films on what's sure to be a growing docket, including next year's thriller from Stephen Susco, writer of The Grudge, The Butcherhouse Chronicles.
As a director, Bay is currently working on the third installment in the lucrative Transformers franchise. Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen raked nearly $840 million worldwide.
