Academy Award-nominee Samuel L. Jackson is set to star in Same Kind of Different As Me, based on the non-fiction book by Ron Hall, Denver Moore and Lynn Vincent. The screenplay for the adaptation was written by Roderick and Bruce Taylor (The Brave One).

The book, which reached #11 on The New York Times Best Seller List for paperback non-fiction, follows the journey of Moore, an ex-convict who turns his life around when he forms a bond with Hall, an upscale art dealer and volunteer. Jackson is slated to both play Moore and also serve as an executive producer on the film.

Jackson just finished starring in The Other Guys for director Adam McKay and will appear in the big-budget sequel Iron Man 2, reprising his role as Nick Fury. The actor can also be heard lending his voice to the character of Zog in Astro Boy, which opens on October 23.
