Tommy Lee Jones is in talks to direct and co-star in The Lincoln Lawyer, a Lakeshore Entertainment picture based on the 2005 best-selling novel by Michael Connelly.

It's unknown what role Jones would play in the film, as Matthew McConaughey is already set to play the lead character, Mickey Haller. Lawyer follows Haller, a Los Angeles attorney who operates out of the back of his Lincoln, as he defends a Beverly Hills playboy accused of murder.
John Romano wrote the screenplay for Lawyer, which would mark Jones' second feature directing gig. His first, the 2005 crime drama The Three Burials of Melquiades Estrada, earned around $5 million domestically.
Jones can next be seen in the The Company Men, an unemployment drama and John Wells' directorial debut.
