Laura Dern is following in Jessica Alba's footsteps as the latest star to join the cast of the third installment of the Meet the Parents franchise. The film's cast already contains the main stars from the previous movies: Ben Stiller, Teri Polo, Robert De Niro, Blythe Danner and Owen Wilson.

In the film, which is to be directed by Paul Weitz, Dern will play the headmistress at the Fockers' kids' elementary school. The movie is currently titled Little Fockers, but is subject to change.

Dern, famous for her role in the Jurassic Park movies, won a Golden Globe this year for her performance in HBO's political drama, Recount. She was also in 2007's Year of the Dog, which earned $1.5 million domestically, and recently inked a deal with HBO for a yet-to-be-written pilot.
