George Clooney is reportedly in talks to star in Alexander Payne's latest directorial effort, The Descendants. The film, which centers around a man who takes his two daughters on a search for his wife's lover in order to save his marriage, is set to begin filming in February.

Payne's last feature-length directorial effort was 2004's Sideways. The Fox Searchlight release raked in $71.5 million and it won Payne and writing partner Jim Taylor an Oscar for Best Adapted Screenplay.
Clooney is set to have a very productive fall. This weekend, The Men Who Stare at Goats hits theaters. November will see the release of Fantastic Mr. Fox and Up in the Air hits theaters in December.
