Night at the Museum and Pink Panther director Shawn Levy is set to take the reigns on an adaptation of the popular Berenstain Bears series of children's books, using a mix of live-action and computer graphics to bring the characters to life. Levy says that he'll be aiming for a tone similar to that of Will Ferrell's 2003 comedy Elf.
The director most recently shot Night at the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian, which earned $177.2 million at the domestic box office. His next project is the Steve Carell/Tina Fey comedy Date Night, which will open on April 9th, 2010.
