Third 'Gremlins' Film in the Works

Gizmo and Co. may soon be invading theaters once again. A third installment of the popular series is reportedly "in the early stages with still lots of hurdles to pass." It should come as no surprise that the property is being developed as a 3D release.

Gremlins 2: The New Batch was released in 1990, and it grossed $41.5 million domestically. That equates to around $74 million when adjusting for inflation.

if they stick with the same writers and director(s) they should be able to update the franchise to appeal to a whole new generation and then pull off a couple of sequels.
